Stef Van Bellingen

Stef Van Bellingen (1963, Villers Semeuse, France) is a curator with mixed roots based in Belgium and curator and director of Contemporary Art Platform WARP, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium.

WARP is a visual arts platform originated in 2006 and based in Sint-Niklaas. We operate in the Waasland region. WARP is an acronym that stands for 'Waasland Artistic Projects'. The verb 'warping' refers to the creative transformation of an environment starting from a single point.
WARP focuses on talent development, which enables us to establish long-term relationships with artists. This results in all kinds of collaborations and exhibitions with mainly new productions. Revealing, presenting, promoting and referencing contemporary art is a core part of our organisation. A broad international scope establishes a stimulating frame of reference and provides our local footprint with continuous and challenging impulses. Our relationship with international artists and partners have led to artistic projects in Antwerp, Bruges, Dublin, Eindhoven, Genk, Ghent, Kasterlee, London, The Hague, Vienna and Ljubljana. WARP is also developing a residency for artists.

Stef is also: - Member Assessment commitee (multi-disciplinary art) Flemish Community - Member Purchase commission Flemish Parliament - Member General Assembly MUHKA, Antwerp. - Board Member Kunstwerk (Choreographer Marc Vanrunxt) - Advisory member Art Couch Magazine - Jurymember Makeeindhoven & Firestationstudios Dublin
