Carine Fol has been the artistic director of the CENTRALE for contemporary art in Brussels since 2012. She holds a PhD in art history (VUB-ULB). Her book From Asylum Art to Outsider Art : one century of fascination through the eyes of Hans Prinzhorn, Jean Dubuffet and Harald Szeeman was published by Skira editore Milan in 2015. She has headed and worked for several cultural institutions in Brussels (Goethe Institut – Botanique – Royal Belgian Museums for Fine Arts - art & marges museum). A curator and the author of books and essays on in- and outsider art, she is a member of the International Association of Art Critics, IKT and of various arts commissions and is consultant for the collection of the National Bank of Belgium.
