Monday October 12, we had a study trip to M Leuven, where we were received by curators Valerie Verhak and Eva Wittocx.
Eva Wittocx talked about the museum’s collection and transhistorical approach with exhibitions that combine works from various periods, from the Middle Ages to now. She also discussed the museum general artistic directives, aspects of the exhibition presentation, etc.
Then we were introduced to Thomas Demand’s “House of Card” and Ericka Beckman’s “Fair Game” - both solo exhibitions were curated by Valerie Verhak. Verhak talked about the artists’ works, how the collaboration with the artists were, the selection of works, the use of space, etc.
