Maud Gourdon (°1991, FR) is a visual artist who works with publications, texts, drawings, and sculptures climaxing
in installations.
In 2014, Maud Gourdon obtained her first master’s degree in communication at Strasbourg’s Haute école des arts du Rhin (FR). She then received her second master’s degree in visual arts at Ghent’s KASK (BE) in 2017. Her work has been shown at Beige (Brussels, BE), Rile* (Brussels, BE), M-Museum (Leuven, BE), Cas-co (Leuven, BE), the Pavillon Charles Vandenhove (Ghent, BE), Le Transpalette (Bourges, FR), S.M.A.K (Ghent, BE), Le 19, CRAC (Montbelliard, FR), Damien and the Love Guru (Brussels, BE) and Kiosk (Ghent, BE).
Today, Maud Gourdon, a former resident at the M-Museum of Leuven (BE), is part of the 2022-2023 residence at the HISK (Brussels, BE) and is a mem- ber of Level Five (Brussels, BE).
Her first solo exhibition A.Mon Seul Désir.R (2016) was presented at MAP (Ghent, BE). Her project Peinée l’eau peut (2017) was shortlisted for the 2017 “Prijs van de Vrienden van het S.M.A.K”. Her text-based installation, the 2019 project A flower is Speaking to a Dog was published by BOEKS (Ghent, BE). It was shown in a 2019 solo exhibition and was also awarded the 2021 “Prix de la Ville de Bruxelles”. In 2022, her last solo exhibi- tion, Cataplasme, was presented at Brussels’ CENTRALE for contemporary art.
