Fabiola Burgos Labra (°1984, CL) studied art at Universidad Católica de Valparaíso between 2003-2008. In 2011, she completed an MFA degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. She is a 2022–2023 resident at HISK. Burgos has organised and produced various exhibitions and interventions in the public space in Valparaiso, Santiago, and elsewhere. The artist mostly focuses on markets, such as Mercado La Vega Central in Santiago (CL), Mercado La Merced in Mexico City (MX), and Feria El Alto in La Paz (BO). In Chile, she was part of the interdisciplinary collectives TUP and la LLunior.
In Belgium, her work has been shown at Sint-Denijs-City – Kunst langs trage wegen, Sint-Denijs (BE), Give me an Answer, Studio Marie Cloquet et Matthys-Colle Collection, Ghent (BE), Wordlines #1, HISK – Higher Institute for Fine Arts, Brussels (BE), Staying in The Gap, Société d ́électricité, Brussels (BE), Licking Blackberry Jam From Your Front Teeth, Blanco, Ghent (BE). Internationally, her work has been shown at: Open- Source Gallery, Brooklyn, New York (USA), La Alianza Francesa, Managua (NI), Diablo Rosso, Ciudad de Panamá (PA), Bikini Wax, Mexico City (MX). She has been a resident artist at Frans Masereel Centrum, Kasterlee (BE), OSMOS Station, Stamford, NY (USA), R.A.T, Mexico City (MX), Materia Gris, La Paz (BO) and Balmaceda Arte Joven, Santiago (CL).
