Luc Derycke

Luc Derycke (°1963) has since 1988 been the publisher of many hundreds of art books, art catalogues and artists books, under various imprints. In 2014 he founded MER. Paper Kunsthalle, an independent publishing house looking into the book medium as an art medium or as a place for exhibiting art (www.merpaperkunsthalle.org).

He is also a graphic designer and operates since 2005 with a small staff as Studio Luc Derycke.

From 1999 till 2007 he was the designer of the Drawing Center Publications, New York.
From his integrated curatorial approach combining the role of editor, designer and publisher of books he has been the curator of a number of exhibitions and MER. Stations, a series of nomadic curatorial experiments re-thinking artists' books for exhibiting in institutional art spaces.
He is a teacher at KASK School of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium.
