SeminArt

The development of the profile of the HISK within the field of artistic research implies cooperation with professional partners and subsidising bodies (cf. Flemish Government, EWI-policy domain), as well as exchange of experience and consultation with educational institutions and organisations already active as research centres.

SeminArt, the consultation platform for artistic research and doctoral studies in the arts, is a concrete result of this interdisciplinary cooperation and is made up of the following partners:

  • PXL-MAD, Hasselt
  • HISK, Ghent
  • LUCA, Leuven, Ghent, Brussels, Genk
  • KASK, Ghent
  • KASK, Antwerp
  • Sint-Lucas, Antwerp
  • RITCS, Brussels
  • Royal Conservatory, Antwerp
  • Orpheus Instituut, Ghent

SeminArt is a cross-association doctoral seminar that seeks to offer doctoral students in the arts from the Flemish Schools of Arts (academic programmes) and the higher arts institutes (post-academic programmes) the opportunity to come into contact with other doctoral students in the arts. In addition, it aims to give doctoral students the opportunity to exchange substantive feedback in the form of a critical discourse. Here, the focus mainly lies on the content-related aspects of the doctorates in question. SeminArt, through its focus on the concrete research practices of the doctoral students, contributes to the development of the research culture in Flanders in the field of research in the arts.

To this end, SeminArt organises consultation events and conferences.
