Lilou Vidal

Lilou Vidal is a freelance curator and editor based in Brussels and Turin.
She is the founder and director of the Non Profit organization Bureau des Réalités and has initiated the residency program The Chemical Pleasure Garden (Viridarium Chymicum) in San Sebastiano da Po in Italy (2018-2021).
Among other activities she has worked as a curator at Kunsthalle Wien in Austria.

As an independent curator, she has been nominated to curate the 22nd edition of Fondation Pernod Ricard Prize, Paris (2020-2021), and the retrospective exhibition of Ernesto de Sousa at Galerias Municipais (Galeria Quadrum & Galeria Avenida da Índia) in Lisbon (2021).
She organized recently several monographic and group exhibitions including group show This is My Body, My Body is Your Body, My Body is The Body of The Word, with Gianfranco Baruchello, Tomaso Binga, Irma Blank, Pauline Boudry / Renate Lorenz, Ernesto de Sousa, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Karl Holmqvist, Derek Jarman, Ketty La Rocca, Hanne Lippard, Mélanie Matranga, Rory Pilgrim Michele Rizzo at Le Delta, Namur (2020-2019), the first solo exhibition of the Italian artist and publisher Ezio Gribaudo, Logogrifo, Palm Tree, Cactus, De Chirico, Dino, Pinocchio, & Publishing in Brussels at Etablissement d’en face (2019), the monographic exhibition of Guy Mees - The Weather Is Quiet, Cool and Soft, at Kunsthalle Wien in Austria and at Mu.ZEE, Ostend, (2018-2019); Pélamide at Gladstone Gallery New York - Brussels (2017).
From 2018 to 2017 she organized the nomadic project Displacement Displacement - Prologue at Independent Régence in Brussels and a second chapter (Part 1) Choreography and Mechanics of the Mind at Franco Noero in Turin. She has edited several books and monographs and works regulary with publishers and magazine as Sternberg Press, Paraguay Press, NERO, H ART among others.

She studied Art History at Paul Valéry University in Montpellier, France and taught the Actuality of the Arts at the National School of Visual Arts of La Cambre (ENSAV) in Brussels. She is also guest lecturer at HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts) in Ghent, member of the CNAP comity (Centre National des Arts Plastiques), Paris and the IKT (International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art). She participates frequently to lectures program and juries for institutions.
