Since 2008 I developed a video work based on a research on narration. This work is titled MÔWN (Movies on my own) and is centred on interdisciplinarity, I try to import the language and representation principles from one medium (performance) into another one (film). I over-identify with the rules of the medium in order to confront the common understanding of fiction. By reducing the means to make a film to a minimum, one actress and a camera, and making the shooting a live performance, the perception of the dramaturgic tools used for story telling become more visible as well as the artificiality of this recomposed image of reality. The audience understanding of film language and video art language has developed further, this allows me to narrow both languages to an artistic style that raises in my opinion new frictions. The different possibilities arising by challenging film and video art is what fascinates me. By investigating the boundaries of continuity and narration, many questions arise: How does the combination of images produce its own imaginary context? How can you build up a narrative out of seemingly unrelated images? The performance offers the spectator to become at the same time a co-actor, observer and active creator of the movie that is yet to come.
