Anne Pontégnie

HISK curator first-year candidate laureates (second half of 2021)

Anne Pontégnie is a Brussels-based independent curator and art critic. She runs APOffice, resources for contemporary art. AP Office is the professional continuation of Anne Pontégnie's many years of experience as a curator and art critic. Pontégnie created AP Office to respond to the need for a more integrated dialogue between actors in the field of contemporary art. The agency brings together a strong, international network of specialists, ranging from theoreticians to technicians, from artists to curators.
Pontégnie is curator for the Cranford Collection in London. She was co-director of Le Consortium, Dijon (2010 - 2018). Prior to that, she was chief curator at Wiels Centre for Contemporary Art in Belgium until 2009. In 2011, she organised the Printemps de Septembre festival in Toulouse, France and in 2003 she co-organised the Biennale de Lyon. Pontégnie curated numerous exhibitions and monographs with artists such as Mike Kelley, Daan Van Golden, Edith Dekyndt and Christopher Wool. She also regularly writes for magazines and catalogues.
