  • Online Open Lecture by Paulo Miyada

A lecture on art and totalitarianism departing from Brazilian experiences from the 1960s and from today. Curator and researcher Paulo Miyada will address how artists faced Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985) systematic and violent attempts to dismantle educational, social, political and artistic initiatives. By reflecting on how artistic practices may embody practices of insubordination to censorship and control, the discussion will also reflect on the current state of cultural and political disputes.
