Stimulans 2022 seeks talent in Flanders and Brussels

With the Stimulans biennial, Be-Part and the city of Kortrijk want to stimulate cultural entrepreneurship and offer a platform in the form of a competition and an exhibition. The Stimulans competition and exhibition supports the exciting cultural dynamics of the city in full preparation for its candidacy as European Capital of Culture in 2030.

The Stimulus Biennial offers opportunities to artists at the start of their career, trained in art education and born, living or working in Flanders or the Brussels Region. Artists who have just graduated or have been graduating for several years can use extra support in taking the first steps in their artistic career.

Contest
Participation in the Stimulans competition is possible until 15 April 2022. All works will be judged anonymously by a professional jury on their topicality, originality and artistic quality. The artists who are selected by the jury will have a chance to win several prizes, the main prize being "the Prize of the City of Kortrijk" of € 5,000.

Expo
From 9 July to 28 August 2022 the work of the selected artists will be exhibited in the Paardenstallen. The exhibition is free of charge and open Tuesday to Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm.
