For its fourth edition the Enghien Contemporary Art Biennial invites you to discover "Par Enchantment". An edition that encourages reverie, mystery and joy. The artists' interventions will punctuate the park but also many spaces rarely (or never) open to the public. Fifteen contemporary artists will play with the codes of the marvellous and the strange.

Each edition is an opportunity to highlight a lesser-known aspect of the city's heritage. This year, for the first time, we will open the room of the castle model preserved in its only vestige: the tower. Among the prestigious traditions linked to the town, there is tapestry. We have decided to bring out a 17th century piece of tapestry from the Jonathas Museum in an exceptional way. These two heritage elements will be an opportunity for artists to create works related to these treasures.

The Biennial aims to bring works by contemporary artists into contact with an exceptional heritage. To this end, some works are created specifically for this purpose, while others are chosen for their enlightening resonance. The event is free of charge in order to allow the most open encounter possible. Its mixed audience is made up of both laymen and enlightened amateurs of contemporary art. Accessibility and wonder prevail thanks to the artists who enter into dialogue with the surprising space of the castle's outbuildings and the park.
