On Sunday 4 July 2021, the Colombian anthropologist and artist Juan Pablo Plazas will present his book 'Even if you', followed by a performance.
‘Even if You’ is a book in which all the lines set out by the artist in recent years come together as if they were a crossroads: language, movement, image, sound, humour and melancholy are the instruments with which the Colombian-Belgian artist is working.
The book presentation will take place in the form of a performance, a recount of different moments in the making of the book. The presentation can be seen as reflections on the process of creating a document that feels like a printed exhibition.
The artist brings a skit divided in 4 mini chapters. The setting is a fictional art book fair where the artist meets the publisher, and where he explains in an absurd way how to make a book. A kind of conversation where the performer will mostly talk and do certain actions. The other participants are: a table, a couple of chairs and books.
The book is published by Posture Editions and will also be available at the S.M.A.K. Bookshop.
