"This room, which shelters the flesh, is home to the heart: point of return and point of departure; it contains those objects which, sight dropped or fixed, are thresholds for the quick eye of the heart. The real, caught in the hand, through which the heart takes flight... The breath caught in the dawn because the eye of the heart saw something the hand could never hold...". This fragment from Maya Deren's diaries and collected in the volume The Legend of Maya Deren (Anthology Film Archives, 1988) serves as a thread to articulate a group exhibition on camera cinema, understood as a cinema that is situated between the domestic and the public, the amateur and the professional, the intimate and the collective. Based on the work of five artists and filmmakers, a journey will take place between practices that integrate a way of working that is based on the fleetingness of the gesture, the delicacy of the unpredictable instant, while at the same time reflecting on the ways of inhabiting intimate spaces.
Participating artists: Judith Adataberna, Valentina Alvarado Matos, Marie Losier, Callisto McNulty and Bárbara Sánchez Barroso.
