On Thursday 14 February 2019, the HISK Candidate Laureates went to the MSK and to the Saint Bavo's Cathedral.

At the MSK, they visited the restoration viewing room, where they saw one of Lam Gods' panels being restored, the larger and main panel where the image of the mystic lamb is depicted. Art historian Lieven Van Den Abeele spoke about the altarpiece, its history and its restoration as well as about Van Eyck.

Afterwards, the artists visited the Saint Bavo's Cathedral to see the altarpiece. They arrived there when it was still closed to see the outer side of the panels and also witness what in the last decades became a ritual: the opening of the Lam Gods.
