I use painting, sculpture and video to draw attention to the inaccuracies between experience and material. I am looking for the interval separating perception and the thing; the space (e.g., situational, political, metaphorical) in which misunderstanding and obscurity are unintentional but inevitable factors. Since 2019, I initiated an art project about the invisible risks involved in being confined. The requirements set by my residence permit forbid me to leave the country, so I traveled the entire length of the Netherlands mainland border by car, bus, bike and foot.
