From 14th February to 22nd May, TRACK, in association with KASK (Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Ghent) and HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts, Ghent), will present a series of lectures by 11 international guest speakers. The lectures will be included in the KASK annual lecture programme and will take place on Tuesday evenings.

This series of lectures is part of the run-up to TRACK and explores a number of crucial issues about art in the public space in general and this exhibition in particular. The speakers are from different disciplines and approach TRACK from a personal perspective. They will include artists who are participating in TRACK, theorists who will speak about the public space, and key international curators who will present and elucidate their projects.

Chus Mart&iacute;nez is coordinator and co-curator of Documenta (13). She also works as a curator for the Museu d&rsquo;Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), where she was head curator from 2008 to 2010.

De lezing van Chus Mart&iacute;nez vindt plaats in het kader van de lezingenreeks die TRACK van 14 februari tot 22 mei organiseert in samenwerking met KASK (Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten, Gent) en HISK (Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten, Gent).

De reeks maakt deel uit van het voortraject van TRACK en exploreert een aantal cruciale vraagstukken over kunst in de openbare ruimte in het algemeen en over de tentoonstelling in het bijzonder.

De 11 gastsprekers komen uit verschillende vakgebieden en benaderen TRACK vanuit een persoonlijk perspectief. Tot de sprekers behoren kunstenaars die aan TRACK deelnemen, theoretici die over de openbare ruimte zullen spreken en belangrijke internationale curatoren die hun eigen projecten zullen presenteren en toelichten.

De lezingen worden opgenomen in het jaarlijkse lezingenprogramma van KASK en vinden plaats op dinsdagavond.

Chus Mart&iacute;nez is co&ouml;rdinatrice en co-curator van DOCUMENTA (13). Zij als curator verbonden aan het Museu d&rsquo;Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) waar ze van 2008 tot 2010 hoofdcurator was.
