Study trip VIII: Tatjana Pieters Gallery and Convent
2019/07/01→2019/07/01
Gent
On Monday 1 July 2019, the candidate laureates visited the Tatjana Pieters Gallery and the art space Convent in Ghent.
At first, Tatjana Pieters talked about the origins of her gallery, its artistic programme and the different collaborations with the artists. She talked about the importance of discussing each other’s expectations and obligations and coming to an agreement before starting a collaboration. It was a very interesting conversation!
Later, the candidate laureates visited Convent, the new non-profit space for contemporary art in Ghent. They were received by Wouter De Vleeschouwer, who is one of the 2 founders. He talked about their proposal for the space, how they collaborate with artists and introduced the show by the young Honduran artist José Montealegre. Another fruitful study trip!
