Niels Van Tomme is a curator, researcher, and art critic based in New York City and Washington, DC who serves as the Director of Arts and Media at Provisions Learning Project. He has curated numerous exhibitions, including Acts of Social Imagination at Nathan Cummings Foundation (New York) and Onthaasting – About Spare Time and Slower Worlds at American University Museum (Washington, DC), video screenings such as Imaginary Belgium at Old Embassy (Tokyo) and Films on Art at the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), and co-organized public art projects such as The State of Things at the MCA (Denver). As a contributor to various journals, magazines and exhibition catalogues, including Art Papers, Afterimage, EXTRA, and hART, he investigates the sociopolitical aspects of contemporary culture. Currently, he is preparing the traveling exhibition Where Do We Migrate To?, which will open in the Spring of 2011 at the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture in Baltimore.
