Location HISK
The HISK is at walking distance from Gent-Sint-Pieters station and the city centre. It is located at a central point in the City of Ghent’s so-called cultural kilometre. Immediate neighbours are the SMAK (the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art), the Museum of Fine Arts (MSK), Sint Pietersabdij Kunsthal (the Saint Peter’s Abbey Art-hall), the City Museum (STAM), the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of Ghent University and the Department of Fine Arts of University College Ghent.
As a city of knowledge and culture, Ghent is one of the most lively student cities in Flanders which has a fascinating cultural and artistic climate.
The HISK’s housing is subsidised by the City of Ghent – by the Departments of Culture and of Facility Management.

Locatie HISK
Het HISK ligt op wandelafstand van het Gent-Sint-Pieters station en het stadscentrum. Het bevindt zich op een centraal punt van de zogenaamde cultuurkilometer van de stad Gent. De onmiddellijke buren zijn het Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst (SMAK), het Museum voor Schone Kunsten (MSK), de Kunsthal Sint-Pietersabdij, het Stadsmuseum (STAM), de Faculteit Letteren en Wijsbegeerte van de Universiteit Gent en het Departement Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van de Hogeschool Gent.
