De Munt, Place de la Monnaie - Munt, 1000 Brussel (BE)
Opening times: 10:00 - 20:00
While La Monnaie is closed for renovations, the building is stepping out of the spotlight. However, that doesn’t mean that it will remain silent! La Monnaie invited Elias Heuninck and Emi Kodama to develop the sound installation 'When you lent me your ear, my heart became a red-breasted robin'. We warmly welcome you to the official opening on Wednesday, October 21, which is a part of ‘Zwijgstil: Luisterfestival Brussel’. Later in the day, between 5-8pm, you will be able to meet the artists behind this project produced entirely by La Monnaie.
When you lent me your ear, my heart became a red-breasted robin, with music by Henry Vega, invites you to press your ear against the walls of La Monnaie. Look for the different listening points marked by a sticker – 6 at La Monnaie and 3 more in Muntpunt. There, the voices of Emi Kodama, Ivan Ludlow, Chantal Pattyn, and Anat Spiegel both whisper and sing intense opera experiences to reveal the secrets behind the historical facade of the building. The project on the Muntplein is free to discover for the whole season!
