Egon Van Herreweghe
During sun-drenched walks in the south of France, small churches offer welcome relief. Their coolness and silence are delightful, much like the interiors in Bang & Olufsen ads. Furnished with a stylish selection of design, art and antiques, the interiors function as the perfect décor and emphasise the significance of the relationship between form and content.
For the 2015 edition of Art-O-Rama, Davide Bertocchi and Egon Van Herreweghe will establish a sacred relaxing spot dedicated to these artificial interiors and constellations encountered in everyday life. By deliberately suspending the works between the aesthetic and the product realm, their intervention gives the objects a certain ‘undecidability’. A situation that leaves the viewer in a paradoxical position, simultaneously distanced from and trapped within the objects.
