Galerie Tatjana Pieters, Nieuwevaart 124/001, 9000 Gent (BE)
Opening: 2014/02/16 15:00
First premiered at Art Rotterdam Bosmans shows a series of 21 ‘Smoke’ paintings. The artist designed and built a smoke machine which leaves a gradation on the canvas. The process is similar to that of smoking meat or fish. The subtitle of every work refers to the material that was burned. The materials were chosen for a variety of reasons and require specific conditions to develop the smoke and gradation. As such every work can be seen as a true record of the practical circumstances.
The use of elements from his daily environment that he then observes, dissects and recontextualizes, is part of Kasper’s practice. For the series of 79 drawings ‘Fox Whiskers’ Bosmans integrated each whisker into a grid. The presentation is accompanied by a publication.
