Jurriaan Benschop (1963) is an essayist, critic and curator living in Berlin. He is a regular contributor to Artforum International and published in multiple other magazines as well as in exhibition catalogs. He curated exhibitions such as Re: Imagining Europe in Box Freiraum, Berlin (2017), A Painter's Hand at Donopoulos IFA, Thessaloniki, Greece (2015) and Geist and Form – Ten Painters from Berlin at the Grunwald Gallery, Bloomington, USA (2013). He has conducted writing workshops for artists at Van Eyck, Maastricht and at Indiana University Bloomington. Recent publications include: Zout in de wond. Kunstenaars in Europa, Amsterdam 2016 and Reluctance to Reveal—A conversation with David Schutter, Berlin 2017.
