About 7 years ago, a law was created in Portugal, forbidding people to live in huts within the city.To the place we now call “High Lisbon”, was once an old social community composed by huts divided between Musgueira, Ameixoeira, Quinta da Pailepa e Quinta Grande, where one could recognize a proper way of the peripheral Lisbon areas, aka civilized urbanistic abandoning. SGAL (Managing Society for Alta de Lisboa) plan covers most of those areas with a visual growing of modernist kind of buildings, with some exceptions for some other zones, yet to exist (if they will ever exist: the denial for municipal funds and the actual economical crisis deal an inconclusive future). Actually, about one third of the original plan is not concluded at all, which brings this situation to a kind of hopeless project.Under the invitation to develop a show in a gallery inside of High Lisbon, I began to question the social developing of the ideas for this problem, gathering in the architects studios for a closer in look to the issue that concerns the present and the future of this project. I came to the conclusion of developing something in one of this abandoned sites in-between the low class buildings and the medium class ones, deciding to build myself a hut/bunker, with both materials from the old huts and pladur plaques used in the construction of low class buildings walls. I lived there for a week and changed my ID card and my driver’s license to this new address that didn’t exist at all (this was only possible due to the lack of new existing architectural plants on the states computer systems).
