IKOB – ART PRIZE FOR FEMINIST ART
With: Helen Anna Flanagan, Julia Lübbecke, Andrea Radermacher-Mennicken, Megan-Leigh Heilig, Benjamin Ramírez Peréz, Vanja Smiljanić
This year, for the first time in its 26-year history, the IKOB - Museum of Contemporary Art in Eupen has expressly announced the IKOB - Art Prize as a prize for feminist art. Both female and male artists whose work contributes to the dissemination of feminist ideas and ideals were invited. A total of 326 portfolios from Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands were submitted. From these, three winners and three additional honorary places were awarded and invited to the winning exhibition. The winner Helen Anna Flanagan convinced the jury with her independent visual language, which she developed in the medium of video. Second place winner Julia Lübbecke shows installations that oscillate between photography, video and performance and Andrea Radermacher-Mennicken, the winner of the regional prize works in the medium of sculpture, photography and drawing. The fourth to sixth place winners also represented in the exhibition are Megan Leigh Heilig, Benjamín Ramírez Pérez and Vanja Smiljanić. You can look forward to a very unique exhibition!
